New Joiner - FAQ's

Are you interested in playing with Hampstead & Westminster HC? If yes, please complete the new joiners enquiry form at the bottom of this page. It is worth your while reading the FAQs before submitting the enquiry.

We will endeavour to respond to your enquiry within 48 hours of receipt. We will then ask you to attend trials in September or arrange for you to go to the appropriate training session at which we will try to place you within a team that matches your ability at that time.

At training you should meet a team captain with whom you will then deal directly concerning selection for Saturday games.

Selection for Saturday games is weekly and you may move to other teams within the club depending on your performance and availability, and in accordance with the club's selection policy. Remember we have a wide range of players, from international standard right through to occasional social players, so we cater for all standards.

How do I become a member of Hampstead & Westminster Hockey Club?

After you have attended training and played some Saturday games, usually 2 or 3, you will then be asked to join the club. At this point you will be required to buy club kit (£40 for shirt and socks), complete a membership application form and complete a Direct Debit mandate form for annual subscriptions.

The women's and men's leagues season start at the end of September, but there are friendlies played through September and social games throughout the summer months.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
