Safeguarding children and young people |
|
HWHC aims to create a safe environment for children and young people to play hockey. This means hat we have policies and procedures in place around safeguarding and child protection/
To read HWHC’s safeguarding and protection policy click on the menu- HWHC safeguarding policy.
There is a HWHC guide for parents about what you can expect from the club around safeguarding. There is also a guide for children and young people. Both are clearly available via the links on the left hand menu.
CRB Checking
All of HWHC Coaches and volunteers that work with our youth section are regularly checked with the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) to ensure that are approved to work with children and young people.
Who to talk to?
If you are concerned about a child protection or safeguarding issue please contact HWHC’s Welfare Officer, Karen Horton. For example if as a player you are being bullied at the club. Or if as a parent you are worried about your child.
There are also other people and different organisations that you can contact, including the NSPCC, Childline and the Police. Further information and contact details are below.
