U18 Boys win Tier 1 National Cup Final in shuffles after late comeback.
The U18 Boys have been crowned England champions at the end of an unbeaten season. For the second year running, they faced Repton in the final. Repton took an early lead, going 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes. After getting on a train to Newcastle rather than Nottingham, Lewis redeemed himself with the first goal just before halftime.
Repton scored their third in the 46th minute to take a 3-1 lead. Not giving up, and with some strategic pulling of GK Dan by coaches James & Tom, Jake got on the scoreboard to keep Repton on their toes. HWHC continued to push and were rewarded with another goal from Jake in the 68th minute.
In shuffles, HWHC came out 3-1 on top after some heroic goalkeeping from Dan to seal the win.
Thank you to all of the players and parents who have committed to the team this season, Team Manager Tina for making sure everyone is where they need to be, and coaches James & Tom who have travelled the country come rain or shine.
The team will head to the U19 Boys EHCO Trophy in Europe for Easter 2027 as the top English club against season winners from The Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and Germany.
