about Zak Hond
Playing in our team is as much about the sacred post-match rituals as it is about the hockey itself. Sure, we run around a bit with sticks, but the real competition starts once the final whistle blows and the pints hit the table. Our “fitness training” mainly involves lifting beers and perfecting dice-throwing technique, often well into the evening (and occasionally the next morning). Team bonding isn’t measured in goals scored, but in who survives the longest at the bar without losing their wallet, dignity, or both. We’re a diverse bunch with different backgrounds and playing styles, but what unites us is the resilience to show up for each other — whether that’s chasing down a ball on the pitch or rallying after a Saturday night “tactics session.” Hockey brings us together, but it’s the dice, the chaos, and the camaraderie that keep us coming back season after season.
